Structural Modeling of the organizational climate profile of a Mexican world class company of the primary sector

Abstract

The  objective  was  to  determine  the  profile of organizational climate and  its influence on  the principal subscales such as: pride and ownership, commitment, recognition and development opportunities, in workers of a Mexican Enterprise of World Class  in the  primary Sector.  The questionnaire of organizational climate (CCO) was applied to a sample of personnel both unionized and  non-unionized n = 5,259.  The hierarchical profile of organizational climate highlights that the Commitment subscale was found in the first place; Pride and Ownership in the second;  Development Opportunities  in  the  eighth;  and   Recognition in the  twelfth place.  There were  significant differences  among  the  workers both  unionized and non-unionized in all the subscales; except in training, communication and recognition. Multiple regressions identified the subscales which influence significantly the selected  dependent variables. Structural equation models supplemented the analysis and confirmed the findings of the multiple regression runs. The instrument showed adequate levels of validity in confirmatory factorial analysis; obtaining a single factor in each of the subscales and a explained variance above 60. Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficients were higher than in all the subscales .70.
