Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine how the variables the quality system and quality performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the southern region of the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. To fulfill this purpose, the structural equation modeling is used with the application of 97 questionnaires. The empirical evidence suggests that the information quality influences the organizational performance variable, specifically the dimensions market information and relationship with suppliers, while the system quality only relates to the internal  efficiency  dimension.  It  is  expected that the results can help SME managers to plan more efficiently their investments in IS.
