Abstract

The transfer of knowledge is a key factor for the development of societies, especially in agricultural contexts. In chinampera agriculture, a traditional system in the central region of Mexico, the integration of ancestral knowledge with modern innovations has allowed adaptation to contemporary challenges such as climate change and urban pressure. In this article the objective was to  identify how the transfer of ancestral knowledge, and the introduction of new technologies, has allowed the modernization and adaptation of agriculture, highlighting the importance of combining traditional knowledge with technological innovations to guarantee long-term sustainability. Through Nonaka and Takeuchi's knowledge spiral model, the processes of socialization, externalization, combination and internalization were explored, showing how Chinampera communities have achieved a synergy between tradition and innovation.
