The management of the supply chain and the Competitiveness of the Industrial SME in Mexico City

Abstract

Previous studies have pointed out the importance of supply chain management in the competitiveness of SMEs, for this reason the objective of this research is to determine if there is a relationship between supply chain management and the competitiveness of industrial SMEs. in Mexico City. The results of a previous study conducted by Saavedra (2014) are used, in which data was collected through fieldwork to a sample of 400 SMEs. A descriptive and correlational analysis was carried out, only to SMEs in the industrial sector, the main findings show that there is a significant relationship between supply chain management and the competitiveness of SMEs in Mexico City, mainly in what concerns to the factors: capacity of the production process, preventive maintenance, research and development, supply of raw materials and inventory management, corroborating these findings with what was found in the previous literature.
