Abstract

Resilience is considered a competitive advantage and involves the ability to deal with any unfavorable situation presented in an unexpected way and obtain significant learning. In family businesses, the application and knowledge of this tool is unusual. Therefore, this research aimed to identify the characteristics of resilience in the family business Cafés Paraíso S.P.R. of R.L. to establish a relationship between resilience and permanence in the market. The research was quantitative and explanatory. A questionnaire was used to detect unfavorable situations in the organization and to study resilient psychosocial variables of workers. In the analysis of results, the central limit theorem, square chi, Pearson correlation and frequency analysis were applied. "Very adequate" resilience factors were found in the family managerial and basic personnel, and "adequate" factors in the temporary personnel. It is recommended to carry out actions that promote group cohesion
