Abstract

Succession is the ultimate test of a family business, the passage from one generation to the next is one of the most difficult, so it is useful that it is done while the founder is still active. The objective of this research is to know if generational change affects the organizational climate of family businesses, considering the following factors: belonging, collaboration and objectives. With the purpose of originating new strategies and knowledge that help control the effect that succession generates on the organizational climate in family businesses. An instrument of 73 items was used and applied to the total number of employees of a group of family businesses that recently had a succession process in which the organizational climate was measured, showing that the succession in the variables analyzed does not generate a negative impact on the organizational climate.
