Abstract

The long-term economic growth is the most important determinant of the population welfare. The latest models show that saving, population growth and technological progress, together determine  the  living  standards  of  a  country

and its growth. Technological innovation is widely recognized as a source of competitive advantage in a rapidly changing context, ie, the ability to innovate is the most important business performance and consequently, national determinant. The purpose of this paper is to present a review of literature related to technological  innovation,  from  state  of  the art and literature review, mainly. For this, a search was conducted for articles published over a period of 1966 to 2014, in the database Web of Science. It have been considered the attributes of effective information, relevance, appropriateness, adequacy, visibility and impact.
