Increase in inequality in Mexico in the context of COVID 19. Case of San Miguel Coatlán, Oaxaca

Development in Mexico as in other countries is framed by processes of economic transformation in the world, therefore, development in rural contexts accounts for different historical moments, which went from the attempt to modernize neoliberalism, which left consequences in the rural families, mainly from the south of Mexico, because with the decrease in support and subsidies, a backwardness was caused in the Mexican countryside, which caused economic and social crisis in peasant families, thus deepening inequality in rural areas far from boost their economic development. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to reflect on the deepening of inequality in a rural community in the state of Oaxaca, for this, the challenges and difficulties in health and education faced by the population of the municipality of San Miguel Coatlán are analyzed. Oaxaca, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The empirical research was carried out in situ, through interviews with municipal authorities and mothers of families living in the municipal seat.
