Abstract

The environment  around us increasingly  pressing companies  to  find  new  factors  that  help  them achieve and maintain their competitive advantage. Therefore the objective of this research is to analyze and identify the relationship between the absorption capacity of innovation and factors such as structural and intellectual capital as it has been observed how it affects the ability to innovate. To demonstrate this relationship using the instrument used by Santos- Rodríguez,  Figueroa  Dorrego,  & Fernández Jardón   (2011),   which   has   proved   reliable   in countries like Spain and Portugal and which was adopted in order to realize our confirmatory study industrial companies, commercial and services with a total sample of 40 companies located in the metropolitan  area  of  Monterrey  through  a descriptive correlational design. The results of the research show that the most significant  variables affecting positively to the absorption capacity of innovation:  organizational  setup  of  the  company and the creation and development  of knowledge.
