The objective of this study was to analyze the opportunities for implementing the circular economy in the Colombian artisan sector. First, the main conceptual contributions are described, and the importance of this new alternative is recognized in economies that support ecosystems while maintaining innovative thinking. This creates new opportunities by reducing environmental impact. Subsequently, Colombian regulations are analyzed to understand how the government has been promoting implementation in various industries, which can then be applied to the artisan sector. As a methodology, this study proposes a qualitative approach with a descriptive level, based on a documentary review of various sources related to the literature on the topic, primarily from 2010 to 2024. It highlights the importance of implementing circular economy principles, using recycled materials and the reuse of waste from the agro-industrial and other sectors. The study concludes by emphasizing that these initiatives can, through innovation, create high-quality products with rich cultural and ancestral content and greater market acceptance, while safeguarding raw materials for the future of new artisans in these communities.
