Abstract

The impact of supply chain management on competitive performance of firms is analized in this work. Firms, which are located in different countries, are tier 1 suppliers of an auto Original Equipment Manufacturer based in Spain. Seven  dimensions  of  management  supply chain and four of competitive performance were considered. Data were collected through a questionnaire and were analyzed using regression analysis. The existence of an association between the management of the supply chain and competitive performance, specifically in regards to the dimension called continuous improvement, was the main finding. Results can only be generalized to the studied sample   of   automotive   components   firms, and suggest companies must strengthen continuous improvement strategies in their operations.
