Analysis of competitiveness in a handmade textile production municipality in Oaxaca

Abstract

The concept of competitiveness appears in a business environment that has evolved and transcended to the geographical spaces and dynamics that develops in them. Under this approach, arises the analysis of the differences among territories base don resoruces and capacities that offer to favorable development of productive activities.This work offers a proposal for measuring at the municipal level considering the predominant productive activity, in this case the handmade textile production, as the trigger of growth and development in community. A mixed method with a quantitative approach   was   used,   data   was   analyzed by means of Factorial Analysis (FA) for the construction and calculate of the Municipal Competitiveness Index (ICM). Results exhibit the position of each dimensions considerated that is transmuted into a tool in decision- making at the local level and in the sharing of experiences and learning community.
