Abstract

The  results  of a  project  aimed  at  developing a process of technological intelligence in a Technological and Development Research Centre (CIyDT) are presented.

The process of technological intelligence focuses on three activities: integration of groups of experts in the field of research,  development  of the topic structure (areas of expertise) and identification of relevant sources  of information.

The  paper  presents   how  the  topic  on  natural risks in civil  engineering  was  structured,  which corresponds to the  extension  of the  proposed originally,  as  structural reliability. Expanding the topic obeyed  as agreed  by the group of experts composed  of academics  at  CIyDT where  the project is implemented.

In a second part, the paper presents  some results of bibliometric analysis based on the information provided by the group of experts. This Bibliometric analysis is based on data collected in 34 journals related to the research  topic. The analysis period corresponds to 2002-2013.

Finally, several   conclusions   concerning   the structure of the research topic to the results of bibliometric analysis and  lines of work that are opened in this project are presented.
