The role of multiple and emotional intelligences: balance in academia

Abstract

This article aims at deepening the knowledge of multiple intelligences  related to emotional intelligence, which are crucial factors in college education. For which a qualitative study collecting data with two questionnaires, one on “Multiple Intelligences” and one on “emotional coefficient” which were applied to a sample of 350 and 580 students respectively in a convenience sample aimed at students performed the National Autonomous University  of Mexico, students degrees in accounting, administration  and computer with an age between 18 and 25 years. The main findings show that 90% of students know what triggers your emotions and find it hard to accept that having control over them and that women have greater resources to identify and manage their emotions than men.
