Abstract

Gender stereotypes are based on beliefs about the role that men and women are expected to play in society. The objective of this work was to analyze if there is a relationship between the factors of the cement ceiling on Mexican businesswoman (culture, responsibilities of the home and perception of oneself and others) and gender stereotypes. Through a descriptive documentary investigation, 8 case studies were examined that show the situation of women with respect to the responsibilities determined by the roles they perform (housewife, mother and wife); confirming that the cement ceiling in which they are located is based on gender stereotypes that hinder the balance of his personal life and the management of his company. It is not possible to generalize when dealing with a multiple case study, however, since there are not many studies on the subject in Mexico, the results are important since they highlight the need to study women entrepreneurs in front of barriers such as gender stereotypes.
ER -
